Run-DMC To Receive 2016 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award

Run-DMC is about to make history once again, and this time at the 2016 GRAMMY’s.

According to the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the legendary hip-hop group will be receiving a GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award.

Rev Run shared the news on Twitter, and it’s safe to say that he was shocked and excited that Run-DMC would be receiving this honor.

Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels and the late Jason “Jam Master Jay” Mizell will be the first hip-hop artists to ever receive these honoree.

Other fellow recipients of the GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award have been Cecilia Cruz, Ruth Brown, Herbie Hancock, Jefferson Airplane, and Earth Wind and Fire.

Congratulations Run-DMC, and tune in next month for the show on Sunday, February 15.
