Future Says He’s Not The Drug Addict His Music Portrays

Clique x Future by cliquetv

Mhmmm, here’s something new for us to take.

In a recent in-depth interview with French website Clique, Future talked about why makes so many references to drugs in his music.

According to the DS2 rapper, he pretends to do something dope because he wants to be creative and in trend with today’s music.

He mentions, “I’m not like super drugged out or [a] drug addict. My music may portray a certain kind of image and I know it’s some people that might be super drugged out and they listen to the music like, ‘Ay thank you, you speaking for me’ and then some people that’s not [super drugged out] that feel like, “Man I don’t have to do drugs, I can listen to Future and feel like I’m on something’ and don’t have to try [drugs]. I don’t do it for you to really have to live that type of life.”

Future then continues to say how he’s not dependent on drugs at all, while he adds, “It’s the timing. I don’t have to do it all the time.”

Now here’s the thing, could his custody frustrations with Ciara about their son have him singing a different tune? What do you think? Watch the interview above and let us know.

In other news, Future did hint new music via Twitter last night (January 16), and gave fans a new mixtape titled Purple Reign.
