Beyoncé suing Feyoncé, a clothing company

Among launching her new fashion label, covering Elle Magazine’s latest issue, and getting ready for her “Formation” World Tour–Beyoncé is in the midst of suing a Texas company by the name of Feyonce Inc.

Bey is suing the company for selling merchandise that uses the name “FEYONCÉ” and sometimes, lyrics from her music.

The “Formation” singer claims the bootlegs cause damage to her brand and the defendants have neglected her requests to stop selling their products, which include: shirts, hoodies, sweaters, and more.

The lawsuit states as follows:

“Defendants adopted Feyonce mark to call to mind Beyoncé and her famous doing. Defendants’ conduct described herein is intentional, fraudulent, malicious, willful, and wanton. Seeking to capitalize on the notoriety of ‘Single Ladies,’ with its famous lines ‘put a ring on it,’ defendants are selling merchandise bearing the ‘FEYONCÉ’ mark — a misspelling of ‘fiancé’ intended to call to mind Beyoncé and her famous song. Some of defendants’ merchandise even beat the lyrics ‘put a ring on it’ further solidifying the connection between Beyoncé and the unauthorized products.”

We’ll keep you updated on the case!
