The Music World Reacts To David Bowie’s Passing At Age 69

It’s a sad day in the music world, as legendary songwriter David Bowie lost his battle to cancer and passed away at the age of 69.

Bowie was known as the man who re-invented Rock n’ Roll, and according to the statement posted on his Facebook account, David died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones.

January 10 2016 – David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief.

Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, The Weeknd, Erykah Badu, and among other artists have taken time to commemorate Bowie and honor his legacy that will forever live in music.

David Bowie was one of my most important inspirations, so fearless, so creative, he gave us magic for a lifetime.
