Take An Insight Look At J. Cole’s “Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming Concert”

J. Cole became the first rap artist in 25 years to have an album go platinum without any features with his 2014 Forest Hills Drive, and going back to his hometown to celebrate that and much more came true this past weekend.

North Carolina’s finest took his journey to HBO with Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming, making his cable TV concert special debut last night Saturday, January 9.

In the video, the “Role Modelz” emcee shares some deep words about his hometown Fayetteville, as he mentions, “I feel like Fayetteville is a microcosm of America, ‘cause you got people struggling and suffering and going through real sh*t everyday on one side of town, and on the other side of town, you got people who got their own issues and problems too, but they’re totally oblivious to what the other side is going through.”

The epic tour featured cameos from Drake, Jeremih, Big Sean, YG, and Jay Z, but of course, ultimately, the victory lap was taken by Jermaine Cole.
